“Support the Rock” with
WXRX-FM “104.9 The X”

Saturday, March
9th, from 10:00am to 2:00pm, Lou Bachrodt Auto Mall, First Northern Credit Union
and WXRX-FM 104.9 “The X” will host “Support the Rock”, and exciting event to
support local musicians. The event takes
place inside the showroom at Lou Bachrodt Auto Mall.
“I’ve been supporting musicians all my
life. Coming from a music background, it’s important to keep music as a
part of our schools and our community. With the heritage some of our
local bands and musicians have given us, we are excited to support this
event. It is truly as unique as the people of Rockford”, says George
Schaffner, General Manager of Lou Bachrodt Auto Mall.
Acts will include
acoustic performances from bands, solo acts, new artists, and established
artists…all kinds of local musicians. Bands
already scheduled to perform include KillBourn, Bareknuckle Bullseye, Raised on
Radio, and more. Attendees who choose to
make a donation to benefit breast cancer research will receive bonus votes to
cast toward their favorite act. Attendees will also have the chance to register
to win tickets to see Alice in Chains at The Rave in Milwaukee on May 15th.

March
is “Music in Our Schools” Month. Lou
Bachrodt Auto Mall and First Northern Credit Union hopes the “Support the Rock”
event will support local bands by giving them an opportunity to perform for a
new audience.
Cash
donations will also be collected during the event. All cash donations will be donated to the
music department at RPS 205.
